How old is my pet?

Thursday, May 29, 2014

A common question in the consult room is “How old is my pet in human years?”   Knowing your pet’s age in human years can be a great help in understanding where they are in their life-cycle, their changing needs and potential health issues.

Recent studies have come up with the following figures and there is quite a difference between cats and dogs. The age of dogs is dependent on their breed and the size of dog. In general, large breeds age more quickly and have a shorter life span than smaller breeds.

If you would like to know more about your pet’s lifestage, please contact us to book a free nurse clinic. We’re here to help.
