Rabbit Awareness Week

Tuesday, May 05, 2015

Every year the Rabbit Awareness Week (RAW) (9 May – 17 May 2015) gives rabbit rescues, vets, owners and bunny lovers the opportunity to raise awareness of how best to care for your fluffy friend, improving their standards of living and giving them the TLC they deserve.

With their cute floppy ears and fluffy little tails how could you not fall in love with a rabbit…?

However, as the UK’s third most popular pet, with 1.7 million hopping around British gardens, they are in fact the most abused. Sadly most people don’t actually realise how high maintenance they are.

This year, the RAW campaign is focusing on rabbits’ diets and wellbeing – the fundamentals of all bunny’s physical and psychological health. Matt Brash, TV vet and RAW supporter, said “many of the issues seen in practice can be prevented through proper diet and nutrition” showing simple small changes can make a huge difference.

Throughout RAW, all of the Highcroft surgeries will be offering:

  • Free ‘rabbit MOTs’
  • 10% off all neutering  (until 31st May)
  • A free bunny goody bag if you book your rabbit in for a consultation

So join the Rabbit Revolution and make the most of a Rabbit Awareness Week - contact your local Highcroft surgery to book a free consultation.
