We now have our own rare species of veterinary surgeon, Brigitte Reusch BVetMed(Hons) CertZooMed MRCVS, one of the country's leading exotic vets.
Brigitte is running a new exciting clinic at Highcroft Veterinary Hospital, The Hare and Tortoise Veterinary Referral Clinic for exotic pets.
Her experience and expertise, along with our existing service, takes us to the highest level, giving you an unparalled veterinary service for your rabbits, small mammals and exotic species.
Brigitte is renowned for her work with rabbits and was instrumental in the set-up and running of the Rabbit Clinic at Bristol University. She was also the resident vet at Bristol Zoo for 3 years and is extremely experienced in the treatment of all exotic species from birds of prey to tortoises, fish and even spiders. .
Polly Cornwell BVSC MRCVS, one of our longstanding vets whom you may well know, already provides an extremely high level of veterinary care for exotics. She holds the highly esteemed General Practioner Certificate in Exotic Medicine and sees exotic pets on a first opinion basis, as do all our veterinary surgeons.
For more complex or unusual conditions that require a second opinion, Brigitte runs specialist clinics at the Whitchurch hospital on Wednesday mornings and will carry out diagnostic tests, xrays, scans, or operations during the afternoon.
The hospital is fully equipped with the specialist equipment needed to diagnose and treat all the exotic species including full hospitalisation facilities with qualified nurses providing care throughout the night.
