Pet passports

If you would like to take your pet abroad they will need a Pet Passport.

Pet Passports can only be issued by a registered LVI or Official Veterinarian (OV). We have over 20 vets across the group who are able to issue your pet with a passport, our reception team will happily book you an appointment with a suitable vet.

Dogs and cats can travel to most European countries and some long haul destinations, and return to the UK without having to spend six months in quarantine, if they fulfil the requirements of the Pet Travel Scheme.

Requirements include:

  • Up to date permanent microchip
  • Rabies vaccination performed within a minimum of 21 days prior to re-entry to the UK
  • Tapeworm treatment given within 24 hours of re-entry to the UK

For further information on the requirements of Pet Passports, visit our Pet Advice Page or contact your usual surgery.
