Dental Clinics
Does your pet smile with confidence?
Puppies and kittens are usually born with perfectly healthy teeth and gums, but just like us, from an early age, food material, bacteria and saliva are deposited naturally and continuously on the surface of the teeth and gums forming a plaque.
Left unchecked and untreated this will inevitably lead to inflammation of the gums (gingivitis) and break down of the bone supporting the teeth (periodontitis) with lots of discomfort for your pet (along with very bad breath).
Symptoms can include apparent loss of appetite, dribbling, bad breath and withdrawal. There is also thought to be a link between gum disease and heart disease.
Veterinary Nurse, Vicki Campho, has additional qualifications in dentistry for pets and is now running free dental clinics on Tuesdays where she will happily check your pet's teeth and advise on preventative care, tooth brushing, diet and, where necessary, give pre-op checks.
Vicki has a BVNA (British Veterinary Nursing Association) Certificate in Dentistry which means that she is very knowledgeable in all areas of dental care. She is also fully qualified to carry out scaling and polishing procedures.
Please call our Whitchurch surgery to book an appointment to see Vicki, 01275 832410.
