Surgery Clinics

Veterinary surgeon, Juliet Pope BVSc CertSAS MRCVS, runs surgical clinics at the hospital where she diagnoses and discusses possible surgical options for your pet.

She holds a certificate in Small Animal Surgery which means that we can offer both soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures beyond the scope of the average veterinary surgeon.

Juliet typically performs the following types of procedure:

• Total ear canal ablation/lateral bulla osteotomy
• Soft palate resection
• Laryngeal tieback
• Gastric dilatation/volvulus
• Skin reconstructions - grafting etc
• Perineal hernia repair
• Oncological surgery (tumour removals)
• Ectopic ureters
• Laparoscopic procedures
• Stapling procedures (lobectomy/splenectomy/intestinal anastomoses)
• Cystotomies

Juliet received notification in January 2007, from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, that she has been approved to study for a Diploma in Soft Tissue Surgery (DSAS). The training will involve working 2 days per week at a specialist practice in Cheshire over a five year period. Currently, there are only nine veterinary surgeons in the country who hold the DSAS qualification.

This training will enable Juliet to offer far more complex surgeries and qualify her as a Specialist Soft Tissue Surgeon.
